1 December 2016
Cold weather
Storing Teflon at cold temperatures can have a serious impact upon its performance. When stored in a cold environment the adhesive backing begins to quickly loose its effectiveness.
Our four top tips to maximising the performance and shelf life of Teflon during the winter months are:
- Store at a room temperature between 16°c and 24°c
- Humidity levels should be between 40 and 60%
- It should be stored away from direct sunlight
- It should be stored in a clean and dust free environment.
Replacing Teflon
- Always make sure any glue residue on the heater plate has been removed before placing the new materials on the plate.
- When replacing Teflon on a cold heater plate ensure the heat is gradually increase to the desired temperature.
