Roy reaches 25th year at Window Ware
6 September 2023
Window Ware got the chance to celebrate the long service achievements of yet another warehouse team member, making it two major work milestones in as many months!
Last month, senior warehouse operative, Simon Field celebrated his 20th year with Window Ware and this month it was the turn of senior warehouse team leader, Roy Sturgeon, who received his remarkable 25-year long-service award.
At a special lunchtime presentation held at Window Ware’s Bedford HQ earlier this week, Roy was presented with his well-deserved award by Managing Director, Sam Nuckey. She was joined by all his colleagues and co-workers who were keen to offer Roy their congratulations and extend their thanks and appreciation for his hard work and support over the years.
Sam says: “A quarter of a century is no mean feat in anybody’s book and demonstrates Roy’s amazing staying power and enduring success throughout his advancing role with Window Ware.”
She adds, “As you might expect after 25 years in the job, Roy’s knowledge of warehouse processes and best practices is second to none. Not only that, but Roy is also a long-standing member of our health & safety committee too and instrumental in maintaining a safe working environment for all.”
Talk to any of his colleagues at Window Ware, though, about what really sets Roy apart, and they’ll all tell you just what a compassionate and caring person he is, always taking the time to check in with them and lend a listening ear.
Roy has taken his achievement all in his stride. He says, “I’ve seen plenty of changes during my time here and played my part in almost 70% of the company’s history. Even now, after so many years, I still enjoy what I do, and I’m genuinely invested in making sure every order leaves our warehouse on time. When you enjoy your job and you’re working with a great bunch of people, then 25 years goes by in a flash!”
Sam finishes by saying, “We never underestimate the difference that brilliant people make to the Window Ware team. Celebrating success and long service is just one of the ways we can make sure our colleagues know just how much they’re valued.”
