Window Ware steps up to the Starlight Hike

Team Window Ware was out at the weekend and walking by night to raise over £400 for charity.

The deely boppers, torches and glow sticks were shining bright despite the gloom on Saturday evening when Team Window Ware joined hundreds of night-time walkers to take part in a 10K charity Starlight Hike. This annual local event raises funds for Sue Ryder St John’s hospice in Moggerhanger to provide expert hospice care for families in Bedfordshire.

Soggy but satsfying!

It looked set to be a soggy, slippery trek following an afternoon of heavy rain. To complicate matters further, illness and unforeseen circumstances meant the original crew of six walkers was cut by two thirds! Determined not to let our sponsors down, the remaining Team Window Ware contingent (Vicky Gibson and Tara Soul) powerwalked through muddy puddles and the pitch black to reach the finish line in under 2 hours. Thanks to their hard work and the generosity of our sponsors, Window Ware has managed to hit its fundraising target by collecting over £400 for Sue Ryder. That’s enough money to pay for a Sue Ryder Nurse for 3 days! A huge well done to everyone involved!
