Please note – fitting a 3* cylinder is one of the easiest ways to improve security. Simply follow the above steps and search for a suitable 3* replacement. The security of the handle and cylinder section of the door will then conform to the TS007 standard. Please refer to our industry standards overview for more information.
Step 3: Fit the replacement cylinder
- Open the door. Place the key in the existing cylinder. Unscrew the screw and remove the old cylinder.
- Place the key in the new cylinder.
- For high security cylinders, ensure the sacrificial break point groove is nearer to the external side of the door.
- Slide the cylinder into place.
- Secure it in place with the screw. This may require some movement to align the screw holes.
- Check the door and cylinder are operating as desired.
