Support for Jabbi

1 September 2021

Colleagues at Window Ware have set up a GoFundMe page for co-worker and friend diagnosed with incurable stomach cancer.

Saikou Jabbi, who has worked at Window Ware for eight years, has been given just weeks to live  since health concerns have made chemotherapy too dangerous. This news is absolutely devastating for him and his family - his wife Aja and his three beautiful daughters, Fatima (aged 9), Zainab (aged 8) and Aisha (aged 2).

Jabbi’s colleague at Window Ware, Laura Wren, set up the fundraising page for Jabbi’s family.

“Jabbi has been an integral part of the warehouse team for the last eight years,” explained Laura, “and he’s always worked extremely hard to look after his family.”

“His friends and colleagues were determined to find a way to support him, Aja, Fatima, Zainab and Aisha at this unimaginably difficult time, and provide the family with the financial security Jabbi has dedicated his whole married life to.”

“We also wanted to make sure Jabbi could really focus on enjoying his final precious moments together as a family without financial worries,” added Laura. “This GoFundMe page should go some way to help with that and, when the time comes, we hope the money raised will be enough to make sure his family are able to fulfil his last wish to be buried back home in Africa.”

Window Ware Managing Director, Sam Nuckey expressed the huge sadness felt by the whole company. “We’re a close-knit team and Jabbi’s news has left us all reeling! Now the focus has to be on making sure Jabbi can live out his days to the fullest with the comfort of knowing the funeral expenses will be taken care of for Aja and his girls.”

The GoFundMe page has already raised over £900, but the hope is to raise £5000.

“On behalf of Jabbi, his family and the team at Window Ware, I would like to thank everyone who has donated so far,” said Sam. “Every pound really does mean so much!”
